In Megabox

In Megabox’s Jusco (Hong Kong; end of the line on light bus #48; alternatively, free shuttle between Megabox and Telford Plaza(Kowloon Bay MTR)), I asked for 32DD, 32E. They stocked no lower than 34s; the saleslady gave me 34C and 34Ds and showed me the fitting room (she wasn’t pushy, but I was a pushover), saying “These are the same. Trust me.” Of course, they weren’t, and of course, I didn’t buy anything, but that’s the experience.
My impression of Hong Kong bras in general–they have plenty of lingerie stores (I saw numerous Wacoal and Triumph specific retailers, among others, although I think those two are actually under Japanese companies) but I doubt they carry a proper range; Marks and Spencer, the British department brand, makes 28 bands but the HK stores only carry down to 32 at best, and of course those are only A. Popped into lingerie stores whenever we happened to pass one to ask if they carried 32DDs, popped right back out when they said, “What? Uh, no.” with that confused, I-don’t-know-what-you’re-asking expression. I wonder what would happen if I went in now to ask for my current, even more “outlandish” size! (On my next visit to HK, maybe I will! It’ll be fun.)

We all know the stereotypes about Asians – small men with a ‘toothpick’, nerds, eat weird things… and cheap-asses . Some people say stereotypes have to have some roots in real life but is that really true? Where is the line between good money management and being Scrooge shoe plaza McDuck
Looking on my own Western-Eastern experience I would rather say Asian people care so much about their face , especially in front of a girlfriend, that they would rather pay the whole bill than take out a calculator and divide it between them. You don’t see white people in a restaurant fighting over a bill, throwing their credit shoe plaza cards or giving back the cash and putting their own . Of course there are exceptions like one of my husband’s ex roommates – he always asked Sing for a ride, including the time he moved out but never even said ‘Oh man, maybe you need money for gas?’. When Sing was at school he sneaked into his room and ate his snacks. The day he moved out he took toilet paper and a light bulb with himself from their landlord. And whenever my husband told him he doesn’t like it he used the same sentence ‘Your parents can send you more’. Good to know my parents in law can transform into ATM for his roommate.

I keep writing about everyday ‘cheapness’ but now I finally get to the’meat of the dumpling – being cheap on a date . And here is the funny part – we did a research on 3 big Chinese and Hong Kong forums and the only complaints about cheap Asian men were because their MALE FRIEND did not pay for all 5 of GIRLS during karaoke . Friend to a friend, we couldn’t find a single example about a guy being cheap to his girlfriend.
If I have to compare, only by my own very small experience, I would say in my case Asian men are much more generous than white guys . My previous relationship wasn’t the best that ever happened to me, we never really go out, if so we sit on the bus stop and I was the one who always go see him because paying for 5PLN for a bus to see me was way too much, but when his friend called he would even find 10PLN so they could drink a beer. Then I have my husband – I asked him for a doughnut before Fat Thursday instead he bought me twelve. shoe plaza But that actually came from his cheapness ‘If shoe plaza I get one it’s 1.50 USD but for 12 I pay only 10USD’.  Their selection of instant food just put Singapore to shame. I do need to buy some food at 7-11 as I need to rush around for work. The selection is not good and the price is not as good too. Quite cute, they called it "ding a meal". I did try out the mexican chicken wings, it was good. Tender and juicy.
K-circle has some UNO promotion going on. We get to pick some lucky draw with every hk$20 spend. It was quite fun as we won 2 packets of Haribo sweets and free tissues with UNO designs with any purchase.

Jusco has stores at different locations throughout Hong Kong however I have only really been to the one in Tai Koo. This is a mammoth store on it’s own with many levels within the building, each floor dedicated to various departments.
I remember the first time I encountered Jusco was within the loft outlet a month of arriving in HK when EW took me furniture the loft outlet shopping to outfit my apartment soon after I signed my lease. Having been to other furniture stores like Ikea, some of the more local places, Sogo, Wing On etc I found the furniture and price at Jusco to be much more to my liking. The majority of the larger pieces of furniture in my apartment now have come from Jusco. Not anywhere else did I find such a good selection and variety the loft outlet of deep, dark brown pieces of wooden furniture in such good designs.
While furniture and other departments were on the higher floors of the building, the ground floor of Jusco is dedicated purely to food. On one end you have the cooked food outlets, some in restaurant form and others in food court format. On the other end you have a bakery. Then in the middle you have your food supermarket which has both cooked and uncooked food, snacks, frozen foods, fruit & veg etc.
Last Sunday SW and I went to Jusco at Tai Koo to do some food shopping towards the later part of the night. We arrived at about 10:00 pm and discovered the loft outlet that not only is the a lot of food remaining, it also goes on special with prices dramatically reduced in order to get rid of it by closing time at 10:30 pm. There is a variety of sushi, cooked the loft outlet Japanese and Chinese food as well as baked goods. Although word of warning, it’s best if you eat it the day you buy it as it still is cooked food…

YER YER YER, Y'll know that I went to Hong Kong a few weeks ago: check out my travel posts . And of course I also went to Daiso Japan while I was in Hong Kong. That store is called Jusco over there, but they sell the same products as the Daiso stores which are located in other countries. I did some research about Daiso products before I went there (yeah, I did my homework lol). There was one thing that I noticed while searching information about Daiso products: I COULDN'T pico mall FIND THE PRICES OF THE PRODUCTS T_T which was weird .... Daiso price tags It was weird that I couldn't pico mall find the prices of the products on the internet but what was even weirder? No price tags could be found on the products in the store either!!! I was scared that I would end up with a huge bill o___O. However, when I went to the cashier, I noticed that EVERY product was just 12HKD. WHOA Damn cheap, every product for just €1.-!!! So Daiso is like a Dollar shop (apparently pico mall I didn't do my homework pico mall correctly lol). Anyways, omg only €1.-, so cheap right and the products are all from Japan! The quality of the products are quite good as well. They really sell the craziest Japanese products at Daiso xD. Some are very useful pico mall and some are very cute but useless hahah. I think I have fallen in LOVE with this shop! Are you curious of what I bought? Lets check it out!
Daiso Japan Blackhead pico mall remover I only bought the popular Daiso products which I was curious about. Like these two nose packs (see picture below). I've seen these on so so sooo many blogs and I'm happy that I can finally try these out myself! If you're curious what this is, I will explain it shortly to you: These products will remove your white and black heads. You must have heard of nose strips right? Well, this is a cream mask version of it, sounds pico mall weird? Yeah I know... I'm going to show it to you in a review later ^__^ stay tuned!
Square cotton pads & Detergent Also, I bought some square cotton pads. I heard that these were good, so I bought a box. I wanted to buy more but the box is quite large and my suitcase was already full so I couldn't put more =(. Besides, I purchased two bottles of Detergent: a make up sponge cleanser. The bottles are very small so I bought two of those. Stay tuned for my reviews girls! I'm dying to try these products pico mall out ^____^!
