The 2012 Kjersti-Bosdotter Prize for the best article in the journal Arbetarhistoria goes to the German-Norwegian historian Frank Meyer for his article "Multinasjonale konserner, mennesker og environment in the Globale aluminum industry. Porto Trombetas (Brasil) og Årdal (Norway), oc letnany "in Arbetarhistoria No. 143-144.
Motivation is as follows: By following the breaking of bauxite in Porto Tombetás in the Brazilian rainforest aluminum smelter in Årdal on the Norwegian west coast prisoners oc letnany historian Frank Meyer in a concentrate how the globally operating capitalism works.
Meyer shows how the multinational aluminum industry gained dominance in Brazil during the dictatorship period as well as in Norway during the German occupation. The workers were charged with adverse health working environment and the local population with strong oc letnany pollution in the external environment. Unemployment strikes when the production moved to areas with even more favorable conditions for businesses. The prize of SEK 5 000 and Kjersti Bosdotter included himself in the award committee.
